ChinTao Garden is a one-of-a-kind traditional Chinese house, located in an ecologically balanced setting in Tengchong, Yunnan Province.

The History

ChinTao Garden is a prominent and locally recognized historical property, originally built in 1938 by the manager of the MaoHeng Commerce Company, one of the largest companies in Yunnan Province from 1920-1950.

The house served as the headquarters of the Tengchong Anti-Japanese Army, and the Chief of Staff of the Chinese-American forces lived in the house during the war.

Built of large lava masonry blocks and high quality Chinese “giu mu” wood, it is one of the largest and most beautiful properties in Tengchong, making it an exclusive opportunity for both personal or business uses.



The Location

This one-of-a-kind traditional Chinese property is located in a very ecologically balanced village in the Yunnan Province, which is also known as "The Town of Literature" and the "Emerald City".

Tengchong County is one of the most scenic spots in western Yunnan and is approximately 760 kilometers from Kunming.

Some of the county's most notable sites include a volcano, famous Hot Springs, Laifeng Park, Dieshui River, Longtai Mountain, the Tomb of the State Funeral, Heshun Overseas Chinese Country and the Yunfeng Mountains. Tengchong is also rich in mineral resources such as jade and other precious stones.

Tengchong County is almost entirely surrounded by Volcanoes and is located at the base of the Leifeng mountain range on land built up by piles of ancient volcanic magma.

More than 80 steam springs, hot springs and heat springs have been found in Tengchong, making it the second largest natural heat field in China. Other notable geothermal heat spots in the county include Ruidian Heat Field, Shiqiang Hot Springs, Liuhuang Pool, Huanggua Spring and Zaotanghe Springs.

Different geothermal heat sources produce different phenomena, which results in a unique ecological community. There are carbonic acid and sulfur springs, which produce lush vegetation. There are sulfuric acid springs, which are void of any vegetation at all. There are also carbonic acid and sulfur springs that are good for your health.

In addition to these unique natural resources, there are many cultural amenities throughout Tengchong. Some of the most famous include a museum, rural county library, cultural relic hall and geomorphology hall in Leifeng Park close to the Laifeng Mountain.

In the Heshun Overseas Chinese Country close to Tengchong, you can visit the Yuanlong and Kui Pavilions. Tengchong is also the hometown of the famous Chinese philosopher Ai Sipi. The threefold cloud ladder and the Taoist temple, which hangs half way up the neighboring Yunfeng mountain, is so enticing that a famous Chinese traveler named Xu Xiake stayed there.

On the north slope of Laifeng Mountain, there is an official state cultural relic site honoring the thousands of Chinese soldiers who died there during the Sino-Japanese war.



The Owner

The property is currently owned by a private Belgian citizen, and the land transfer was completed directly through the Chinese government.

As a result, buyers are able to transfer the property easily under Chinese law.

The land can be used for 40 years as a personal residence, or for a wide variety of commercial ventures, including hotel, restaurant, lounge, or other related businesses.
